In-app events
What are in-app events?
In-app events are a subset of events that particularly refer to user activity as soon as an app is installed.
They are often loosely categorized into two main categories: standard in-app events and rich in-app events.
- Standard in-app events include actions such as registration, add-to-cart, purchases, and opens
- Rich in-app events refer to activity such as level achievements, tutorial completion, user invites, and social shares
While standard in-app events show you the overall behavior of users inside your app, rich in-app events show you how to go a bit deeper. They're important in figuring out the actual value of your users and the efficiency of your user acquisition efforts.
For every app category (e.g. Gaming, Health, etc.) and monetization model there can be a barely totally different set of in-app occasions, however generally, it’s greatest to align in-app events along with your app’s KPIs.
Understanding app installs activity/user behavior
The insights gained from measuring in-app events can level up your app campaign optimization, better inform budget allocation decisions, and create more impactful user segments. While every app on the market is trying to attract users, the real challenge is identifying loyal users by understanding their install behavior and that’s where in-app events really be helpful for your promotion performance.
They help you answer questions like, “Who are the active users that open my app daily?” and “Which users are really valuable that will pay for new features of my app?” so that you can better understand the activity of your targeted and most desirable users.
