The most recent official Gameplay video has shown that 2XKO (Project L) is a free-to-play 2D 2v2 fighting game as each player takes control of a pair of League of Legends characters.

The game features a three-button fighting system, comprising light, medium, and heavy attacks. Special moves are executed using simple direction commands instead of complex inputs.

Meanwhile, it boasts various defensive options, including the retreating guard, allowing players to cancel backdashes into a guard. As a tag fighter, the game incorporates numerous tag mechanics showcased in the January 2023 dev diary.

Players can engage in Duo Play, allowing two individual players to control one character each on a team. The fuse system adds depth by altering how players interact with their assist character, enabling additional assist attacks and improved assist supers.

Also, in the character selection, every character has a variety of chromas available, which provides players high flexibility to personalize and modify the color schemes for preferences.

As of now, Riot Games has unveiled a few characters that will be available in Project L, Including Ekko, Ahri & Darius, champions from the League of Legends universe. Each character is said to possess unique abilities and playstyles, offering players a diverse roster to choose from and master.

The good news is that a 2XKO/Project L Demo will be playable at Evo 2023, but the game is still far from a closed beta.

*Updates: With Riot's latest information announces that 2XKO will attend EVo Japan in April, 2024.

As shown in 2XKO's Year in Preview 2024, the game is supposed to be fully launch in 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC.
