What are Non-organic install(NOIs)?

Non-organic installs, also be known as paid traffic, happen when a user chooses to download and install an app after seeing a marketing campaign.

While paid traffic or promotion campaign refers to marketing and drive your user acquirement within traffic channels that you pay for. The goal of the efforts is to lead users to download your app after a viewing and clicking on an ad, or to choose the paid app downloads and installs service to improve the app visibility within the app store ranking algorithm and then drive your  organic installs finally.

The biggest difference between Non-organic installs(NOIs) and organic installs, is that with an organic install, the user wasn’t prompted by any advertising effort or other paid ways – they simply find a given app from the searching results or recommendation results on the app store.

What about the users you get from app marketing activity

As time goes by, non-organic activity is on the rise while the share of organic installs is dropping.

With more than 3 million apps in the Apple App Store and over 3.5 million apps in Google Play, an app’s chances of being discovered resemble the odds of winning the lottery.

More and more app marketers are increasing ad spend based on a solid foundation of data insights and analytics. As a result, non-organic traffic has increased in quality and has become a goal in its own right; no longer a means to drive organic traffic. With the use of accurate data, non-organic can deliver scale, control and quality.

Still, organic installs provide the best quality users, help reduce the Effective Cost Per Install (eCPI), and increase profit. Ultimately, apps always need non-organic and organic traffic together to drive their growth. And the number of app installs marketers earned also belong to one of the key ranking factors in the app store. This is why some app promoters choose to buy app installs directly sometimes within the Ads together to boost their app ranking and visibility.
