Zenless Zone Zero (also known as ZZZ) is an action role-playing game developed by miHoYo, the studio responsible for titles such as Genshin Impact analytics and Honkai: Star Rail statistics.

Background

The narrative framework of Zenless Zone Zero is situated in New Eridu, an urban centre functioning as the remaining human settlement following large-scale anomalies. These environmental hazards, categorised as "Hollows", are spatial voids generating hostile entities classified as "Ethereals".

The player assumes the role of a Proxy, a registered operative tasked with navigating these Hollows and coordinating safe passage for individuals requiring entry into the zones.

The Protagonists: Belle & Wise

The primary narrative figures are siblings Wise and Belle, administrators of a commercial enterprise named Random Play. Operationally, they act under the Proxy alias "Phaethon", specialising in Hollow navigation.

Upon initialisation, players must select either Belle or Wise as the primary avatar, with the unselected character functioning as a secondary operational assistant. 

*Notes: Belle and Wise operate as non-combat protagonists within the gameplay mechanics.

Gacha Mechanics & Characters

Signal Search (Gacha)

The "Signal Search" interface acts as the primary probability-based acquisition system to obtain Agents (characters), W-Engines (equipment), and Bangboos (support units).

The statistical model is structurally similar to standard systems encountered in previous titles from the developer. 

1. Exclusive Channel

Exclusive Channels facilitate the acquisition of limited-time S-Rank Agents on a rotating schedule. Each iteration features a designated promotional S-Rank Agent alongside two associated A-Rank Agents with elevated drop probability rates.

Historical data shows that Version 1.0, titled "Welcome to New Eridu", featured limited promotional intervals for S-Rank Agents Ellen Joe and Zhu Yuan.

*Notes: The system enforces a guaranteed S-Rank drop within 90 visualisations, applying a 50% probability of yielding the promotional S-Rank Agent. Should this condition fail, the subsequent guaranteed S-Rank drop is fixed at 100% for the promotional Agent.

2. W-Engine Channel

This channel is explicitly dedicated to acquiring limited-time S-Rank W-Engines corresponding to the active character schedules. 

During the Version 1.0 phase, available variants included the Ellen W-Engine (Deep Sea Visitor) and Zhu Yuan W-Engine (Riot Suppressor Mark VI).

*Notes: A guaranteed S-Rank drop occurs at 80 permutations, featuring a 75% baseline probability of yielding the selected promotional weapon. Alternatively, the next S-Rank assumes a 100% guarantee.

3. Stable Channel

This serves as the permanent standard acquisition index, dispensing base-tier S-Rank Agents and W-Engines.

The permanent roster of S-Rank characters includes: Grace, Rina, Koleda, Nekomata, Soldier 11, and Lycaon.

*Notes: Accruing 300 acquisitions activates a singular protocol allowing the player to manually select one standard S-Rank character.

4. Bangboo Channel

Bangboos function as automated combat ancillaries designed to dispense tactical buffs, apply status anomalies, and engage in Chain Attacks.

The Bangboo acquisition mechanic enforces a 100% target yield within an 80-pull ceiling.

Agents (Characters)

Field operatives, classified as Agents, are designated by two hierarchical tiers: "S-Rank" and "A-Rank".

During the Version 1.0 integration, a total of 15 Agents were accessible via the aforementioned Signal Search interfaces.
