UK Marketing Genshin Impact: All You Should Know about Fontaine (2) -- Characters Leaks

The previous article talked about the background, such as prototype and geographic locations in Teyvat. Combing existing information with rumors, the character info can be predicted.

We launched a poll on Twitter (X) and the most anticipated characters were Focalors (41%) and Lyney (34.4%). This article will introduce the most expected part for Genshin players-- Characters!

Focalors

Starting with the Hydro Archon, Focalors. Her real name will be Furina. Previous rumors showed that her name was "F___ de Fontaine," and since Furina starts with 'F,' it's possible that her name is Furina de Fontaine.

Characteristics

As we learned from Nahida, Focalors is not the Chief Justice of Fontaine, so she won't preside over industrial trials. However, she seems to be enjoying the thrill of having legal justice done, presenting at every trial in Fontaine.

Dainsleif also mentioned that while Focalors "lives for the spectacle of the courtroom" and seeks to judge all other gods, she knows not to make an enemy of the divine.

Signature weapon

Speaking of her weapon, the commonly agreed version is [Sword]. Leaks also provided information that Focalors' signature weapon is a Rapier, which is similar to Dota 2's Paladin Sword's effect, benefiting healing.

Abilities

It's not surprising that Focalors' kit is related to HP because of the Elemental Resonance (Having two Hydro characters in a party of four increases Max HP by 25%). However, she got special damage buff: one leak mentioned that her Elemental Burst will likely create a field, exchanging HP to team DMG.

So, it can be assumed that teams built with Hydro Archon should contain a healer, like Baizhu or Kokomi.

Lyney

Lyney appears with Lynette in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview Act IV, Fontaine, and he will be the first Fontaine 5-star character coming to the wish pool. It's commonly agreed that Lyney will be a [Pyro]+[Bow] character, emphasizing his single-target damage, similar to Yoimiya.

Signature weapon

Lyney's 5-star signature bow was also mentioned, named "The First Great Magic". This weapon substat increases Crit DMG by 66.2%.

It also increases the wielder's ATK by 12% and grants Gimmick stacks for party members with the same Elemental Type and Theatrics stacks for those with different Elemental Types, providing additional ATK and Movement SPD bonuses based on the number of stacks accumulated.

Details:

"ATK increased by 12%. For every party member with the same Elemental Type as the wielder (including the wielder themselves), gain 1 Gimmick stack. For every party member with a different Elemental Type from the wielder, gain 1 Theatrics stack.

When the wielder has 1/2/3 or more Gimmick stacks, ATK will be increased by 8%/16%/40%. When the wielder has 1/2/3 or more Theatrics stacks, Movement SPD will be increased by 4%/7%/10%."

If Lyney consumes HP via firing a Prop Arrow, the Grin-Malkin Hat summoned when this Prop Arrow hits will deal 80% more ATK as DMG.

• Conclusive Ovation

  • When dealing DMG to opponents affected by Pyro, Lyney will receive the following buffs:
  • DMG increased by 60% at base.
  • Each Pyro party member other than Lyney will cause this effect to receive a further 20% bonus.
  • Lyney can gain a total of 100% increased DMG to opponents affected by Pyro in this way.
    
    
• Trivial Observations

Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Fontaine on the mini-map.

Normal Attack

Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Plunging Attack

Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.

Lyney turns himself into a Grin-Malkin cat that can move around quickly. When the cat gets close to opponents, it will send flames falling down on them, dealing at most 1 instance of Pyro DMG to each opponent. When the duration ends or Lyney uses his Elemental Skill, he will dimiss the cat and ignite fireworks that deal AoE Pyro DMG, summon 1 Grin-Malkin hat, and grant himself 1 prop surplus stat.

Constellations

Lyney can benefit a lot from every constellation obtained. One possible set can be:

• C1 – Whimsical Wonders: Lyney can have 2 Grin-Malkin Hats present at once. Additionally, Prop Arrows will summon 2 Grin-Malkin Hats and grant Lyney 1 extra stack of Prop Surplus.
• C2 – Loquacious Lure: When Lyney is on the field, he will gain a stack of Crisp Focus every 2s. This will increase his CRIT DMG by 20%. Max 3 stacks. This effect will be canceled when Lyney leaves the field.
• C3 – Prestidigitation: Increase the Level of Normal Attack: Card Force Translocation by 3. Maximum upgrade is Level 15.
• C4 – Well-Versed, Well-Rehearsed: After an opponent is hit by Lyney’s Pyro Charged Attack, this opponent’s Pyro RES will be decreased by 25% for 6s.
• C5 – To Pierce Enigma: Increase the Level of Wonderous Trick: Miracle Parade by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
• C6 – A Contrary Smile: When Lyney fires a Prop Arrow, he will fire a Pyrotechnic Strike: Reprised that will deal 100% of Pyrotechnic Strike’s DMG. This DMG is considered Charged Attack’s DMG.
