Play Services v25.46: Media Handover & Find Hub Item Sharing

From 17 February 2025, apps without verified trader status will be withdrawn from the EU App Store in accordance with the Digital Services Act.

From 17 February 2025, applications on the App Store within the European Union (EU) must comply with the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) by declaring their trader status. Apps that do not meet this requirement will be removed until their trader status has been verified.
Under the DSA, a trader is any individual or entity engaging in commercial activity for professional purposes, including app distribution.
Developers must determine their status based on revenue earned through in-app purchases or advertising, commercial dealings with consumers, VAT registration, and professional app development.
Non-traders must inform EU consumers that certain consumer rights may not apply.

Apple will verify the submitted trader information. Once confirmed, it will be displayed on the App Store product page for visibility across all 27 EU countries.
Developers can manage the trader status for each app individually.
Failure to submit or verify trader status by the deadline will result in the removal of apps from the EU App Store.
Developers should ensure all required information is accurate and submitted in good time.
The European Commission has issued guidance to help developers understand their obligations under the DSA, and legal advice is recommended for those uncertain about their status.
