Japan's travel app market returned to growth in Q1 2022, with a 13% year-on-year increase in Q3 2024, exceeding 20 million downloads. "Google Maps" remained consistent, leading downloads and ranking second in active users.
The domestic app "Suica" grew 10% in downloads and 14% in active users, ranking third in downloads and fourth in active users.
Since 2020, South Korea's travel app downloads have remained stable, reaching 14.5 million in Q3 2024. The local ride-hailing app "Kakao T" led both downloads and active users, with nearly 58 million cumulative downloads and 14 million monthly active users by September 2024.
"Trip.com" rose 18% in downloads, securing second place, with South Korea as its largest market.
In Q2 2024, Southeast Asia's travel app downloads reached nearly 61 million, with Indonesia contributing 44%. "Grab" remained top in downloads and active users, growing 12% from January to September 2024.
The "Maxim" e-hailing app ranked third in downloads, while Vietnam's "Xanh SM" grew 120%, reaching fifth.
Q2 2024 marked a record for India with travel app downloads surpassing 110 million. The train app "Where is my Train" led downloads and active users, reaching nearly 400 million active users by September 2024.
Local ride-sharing app "Rapido" increased downloads by 35%, overtaking "Uber" in the Indian market.
In Q3 2024, Australia saw travel app downloads surpass 10 million, while New Zealand remained stable at nearly 1.4 million downloads. "Google Maps" and "Uber" led downloads and active users across both countries.
"Booking.com" ranked fourth in downloads and third in active users, while navigation app "Waze" grew 28%, moving to third in downloads.
